Summary
Hubble’s investigations with the 100-inch Hooker Telescope at Mount Wilson observatory, overlooking Los Angeles, California, led to a dramatic expansion of the universe. For Hubble, the universe is not limited to the Milky Way galaxy. Rather, although many of the cloudy nebulae objects are gas clouds within the Milky Way, many others are entire galaxies like our own, viewed from a remote distance. The Hubble Space Telescope provides unprecedented views of these distant worlds, whether gas clouds within the Milky Way or distant galaxies.
