The University of Oklahoma’s Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art is widely regarded as one of the finest university art museums in the United States. As part of the Galileo's World exhibition, the museum hosted "An Artful Observation of the Cosmos" exhibit from January - April 2016, which examined the art of various periods and cultures. Several events were held during the exhibit including an opening reception, several academic presentations, and a family day that allowed visitors to experience the exhibit first-hand.

Exhibits
In the Starry Messenger (1610), Galileo reported his discovery of four satellites of Jupiter and mountains on the Moon. These sensational telescopic discoveries would have been impossible were it not for Galileo’s training and experience in Renaissance art.
